History / Previous Identities:

NAA designed the XP-51G for lighter weight / higher performance. This is one of the light-weight P-51 prototypes. They never saw production.

Story is that this airframe was on its way (literally) to the scrap yard, when the truck was stopped on the highway. Great story.

This is a long-term restoration. The fuselage was cut off behind the canopy so it would fit better in the room it was stored. Many parts are not in existence for this type and must be made or converted from an H model (which has few parts available).

To many of us this a great piece of history, and it would be a real treat to see fly again.
