2005: Oshkosh - on Tuesday, 26 July at about 4pm local time, Richard James as one of a flight of four P-51 Mustangs crashed on the eastern side of Winnebago Lake, east of Oshkosh. James was killed. The flight was holding between acts for the EAA Airventure airshow. James was laid to rest on Saturday as many friends flew warbirds overhead in his honor.
