| I beleive this is N9857P, s/n 44-84962, owned be Lee Schaller. Ex-Indonesian Air Force F-312, it had made its first post restoration flight in 1983 (at Chino, I figure around when this must have been taken). One of the Indonesian airframes recovered by the late Steven Johnson..... now in storage in Illinois???? Yes, this is indeed N9857P. It is reported to be an ex AURI machine, that went to Indonesia with the serial number 72-1538. I sure wish we had a better handle on those late Cavalier fiscal serial numbers.
On further study into N9857P, I find that it went to Cavalier as 44-84962, was rebuilt in 1972, reserialed 72-1638 and went to the AURI as F-364. It was among the airframes that Stephen Johnson imported in 1978.
