I was a young airport bum teen back in the late 70's when George would fly Passion Wagon into Meriden Markham Airport every now and then. I remember him wearing Converse sneakers with his flight suit. One day I asked him why and he said once he got the heel of one of his shoes fouled in one of the mustang's rudder pedals so no more flying with shoes with heels! George was a really nice guy and approachable. While admiring Passion Wagon in front of the fuel pumps one day he walked around to the fuselage storage compartment, popped it open and handed me a photo album to look at! A true gentleman.

N3451D was originally built for me by Trans Florida Aviation in 1968. I owned it through my company, Tempress Research, Inc. I sold it to Jerry Brassfiled who eventually donated it to EAA where it now resides. Flying it got me interested in aerobatics and led to the formation of my second company, Christen Industries, Inc. which produced the Christen Eagle and Christen Husky aircraft and sponsored the Eagles Aerobatic Flight Team.

Greg -
Good to hear from you again! Although you were not yet born, your mother was a very important part of those days. I hope she is still well and prospering!
All the best!

Case 152    Wednesday 12 Jun 2013 by Gregory McGinnis
Hello everyone,

It has been some time since I have visited this website. These posts bring back so many great memories. Many of the stories I tell my sons today have to do with time spent up at High Valley Ranch with Jack and Camille, and all the kids (Jackie, Sheila, Chris, Peter, Kim, Monday and Tammy).

I remember Lewis, Odus, and many of others mentioned throughout these posts. It was a great time in my life that I will never forget. I often think about Marie, Mary and William. William and I spent a lot of time on the yacht and up at the ranch together when we were younger. I hope they are all doing well.

I take my family up to Clearlake a couple of times a year to visit my mother. Every time I do, I drive up to High Valley to go by the ranch and visit the crash site.

I want to wish everyone well and thank you for keeping the memories alive!

Message to Bill,
I was fortunate to meet Hank Pfeifer in 1973 at Kaiser Steel. And again in 1984 at California Steel. A true gentlemen and a great person.

It was truly an honor,

Hi Perry,
I used to live in Tampa and met your uncle a couple of times. I have quite a few pictures of the Mustang and also his P-40N. We also have some super 8 movie film of at least one airshow at Tampa Downs - which includes a "straight up" take off run as you previously described. I'm in California now, but feel free to call me at 415-386-7483. I can make copies of some of these pictures and send them to you.
Thanks,
Marc
