Cuba did not operate the P-51 Mustang as a standard air force fighter in the post-war era. Instead, a handful of Mustangs were clandestinely acquired from the United States in 1958 and briefly flown by revolutionary forces during the final months of the Cuban Revolution. Their operational impact was limited, but their historical significance is notable, representing one of the Mustang’s final appearances in armed conflict.
