This is 44-72936 N7711C possibly while owned by Warren Schulden and operated out of PA.

Well it's a K model, you can tell by the prop design.

Ok, TJ and John got the P-51 correct. Can you name the pilot and passenger?

That is Alex Sheves flying N7711C, 44-72936 with Warren "Dutch" Schulden in the back seat. The aircraft was formally owned by Skip Scott and painted "Blue Angel Blue". The aircraft was based at MQS (40N)in Coatesville, PA for many years. The aircraft was sold to a cropduster and was lost performing a low level roll in Alabama on 12/16/1979

I took that picture of Alex Sheaves and Dutch Schulden in the P-51 with the engine running. This was at Allegheny County Airport Pittsburgh, PA., around 1973. They flew in from Coatesvilles to look at my V-1650-9 that I had acquired. Alex gave me my first ever 1/2 hour ride in a P-51 at that time. Alex was a Corsair driver in WWII and Dutch flew the Hellcat. From what I learned, Dutch had 2 KIAs in the Pacific theatre. They told me that they also had a Corsair and two Wildcats also at their field, where Alex was the airport manager. I believe that Jim Beasley also based his aircraft there. I eventually sold my Packard Merlin to Ken Scholz, who owned the P-51 44-84896 at the Torrance Airport. He did nothing with it nor with his P-51. The engine was one sold separately when the P-51 was auctioned. The engine went for $48,000. I bought it for $50.

Correct my Uncle John F. McConnell was a cropduster out of Hurtsboro, AL he took possesion of the plane late 77, early 78 it was kept the Blue Angel color and had a spare Merlin engine with it. He did crash the plane 12/79 (2 Souls Onboard) and the plane was evetually purchased by Marvin Croutch in Calaifornia.
